March Sales Round-Up
Why hamper you with all the BS. Here are the plain numbers from March 2006 over March 2005. We'll be updating this story throughout the day.
Land Rover: Up 39.3%
Notable: Range Rover Sport keeps selling.
Volkswagen: Up 23.8%
Notable: Jetta up 39%, mashup of Golf, GTI and R32 also up 115%. But no breakdown for just the new GTI.
BMW: Up 22%
Notable: BMW Cars are way up, 31%. While their SUVs take a 2% hit.
Mercedes-Benz: Up 17.1%
Notable: New S-Class makes a killing in March. CLK and M-Class not too shabby either.
Porsche: Up 14%
Notable: Best ever sales of the 911 in the U.S.
Subaru: Up 10%
Notable: Impreza sales strong. Forester sells exact same amount in march '06 as '05.
Lexus: Up 8.3%
Notable: IS sales only positive gainer for Lexus. Still waiting on the new ES and LS to hit dealers.
Jeep: Up 8%
Notable: Wrangler and Commander have a strong March.
Audi: Up 7.6%
Notable: New A6 only saw 1.1% increase. New A4 up 12.5%
Toyota: Up 6.7%
Notable: New RAV4 energizes flat car sales.
Honda: Up 1.2%
Notable: Civics up 14% but not as much as it could be. Ridgeline up 37.9%?
Dodge: Up 1%
Notable: Caliber staying on lots just 10 days.
Mazda: Down 2%
Notable: Mazda3 sales actually down while Mazda6 is up. Tribute sales way off as well. Waiting on the CX-7 are we Mazda dealers?
Chrysler: Down 2%
Notable: PT Cruiser and Crossfire bring down the rest of the steady performing line-up.
Volvo: Down 4.1%
Notable: Aging S80 pretty much killing the group and new C70 not on sale yet.
Ford: Down 4.4%
Notable: Every model down except F-Series, Econoline and Fusion.
Acura: Down 5.8%
Notable: Everything down but TSX
Mini: Down 7%
Notable: It took this long for the Mini to get old? And the Cooper S actually saw a gain.
Jaguar: Down 47.4%
Notable: The biggest number of the day.
