A few years back everyone thought a small sport ute would be the big seller in the Land Rover family. No one could have predicted the renaissance at the British coach maker. Now the suburban mom and dad bling is a Range Rover, or if you must the LR3. But the new Freelander, based on the popular C1 platform (Mazda 3, Volvo S40), will be for the common people. Let's hope Land Rover keeps the good looks of the past and hopefully the price down too. They haven't gone wrong lately.
